A recent wastewater analysis by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction revealed that out of 56 European cities, Germany made up for 50% of the top ten cities for amphetamine use. According to The Local de, the study analyses wastewater samples for 43 million people to trace for four drugs; amphetamine, cocaine, MDMA and methamphetamine.
Germany was also highly ranked for methamphetamine use with both Dresden and Nuremberg in the top ten. German police have warned that methamphetamine is smuggled into these cities through the country’s close border with the Czech Republic.
