Testimonials
Our customers have reported improved turnaround times, an increase in specimen information, better productivity, a reduction in backlogs, reduced wastage and fewer false results with biochip DoA arrays. These features combined offer substantial time and cost savings in the laboratory. But don’t take our word for it – listen to our worldwide customers…
Núcleo de Toxicologia Forense do IML-SP - The Forensic Toxicology centre of the Scientific Police, Sao Paulo, Brazil
The Brazil Scientific Police are a highly recognised provider of forensic services including substance abuse or dependence, post-mortem examinations, sexual assault, analysis of injuries and accidents at work. They carry out toxicological analysis in urine, blood and forensic specimens.
In 2010 the Forensic Science centre decided to replace their homogenous EIA analyser, with a dedicated system for forensic drug detection. The laboratory staffs reviewed a number of systems and were impressed with the benefits that they could gain with multiplex Biochip Array Technology. A comparative study was carried out to correlate results with their current system.
Results from the study showed excellent correlation with the laboratory confirmatory method and a reduction in the number of samples requiring confirmation. Staff commented that the Biochip procedure was much more efficient and eliminated the need for sample extraction, allowing them to easily process blood specimens.
Workload
10,000 specimens including;
- Blood
- Urine
- Post-mortem specimens
Immunoassay solution
- The fully automated Evidence analyser
- Drugs of Abuse array I+ (urine and blood)
Reason for choosing Biochip Array Technology
- Improved laboratory throughout
- Reduction in manual sample handling
- Dedicated kits for various sample types
- Ability to screen blood samples without extraction
- Improved sensitivity and specificity
- Reduction in false results going to confirmation
Customer testimonial
The Evidence analyser can identify fourteen groups of drugs simultaneously in blood and urine. With the result, we can start the specific analysis for the type of drug found… when cocaine is identified in the sample, we can then target that specific drug to confirm the result.
Roberto Souza Camargo
Director of the Institute of Legal Medicine of Sao Paulo
Servicio Medico Legal de Chile - Santiago, Valparaiso, Iquique, Concepcion, Temuco
In 2007, the legal medicine institute ‘Servicio Medico Legal de Chile’ in Santiago, Chile, began using the Evidence Investigator for multiplex Drugs of Abuse testing.
The staff in the laboratory were very pleased with the quality of results and efficiencies achieved through consolidated, multi-analyte testing. As a result, they decided to implement Biochip Array Technology throughout all of their legal medicine institutes in Chile, and purchased a further four Evidence Investigators. They are running Drugs of Abuse array I (DoA I) and DoA II.
The toxicology director Dr. QF. Christian Allendes is interested in implementing cardiac testing in the forensic laboratory - screening for CKMB, Myoglobin, FABP and Tropinin I in post mortem samples. He also plans to test for markers of chronic alcohol abuse on Randox new DoA arrays.
Workload
- 15,000 specimens annually
- Urine
- Blood
Immunoassay solution
- Randox Evidence Investigator (one at each IML site)
- DoA I and DoA II biochip arrays (urine kit)
- DoA I and DoA II biochip arrays (whole blood kit)
Reason for choosing Biochip Array Technology
- Accurate and efficient multi-analyte testing
- Ability to achieve high throughput
- The additional three analytes on DoA I+ meant that they could completely replace their ELISA testing with a single biochip array
Customer testimonial
We have worked with Randox Evidence Investigator since 2007 and are very happy with the results. The Biochip arrays offer good sensitivities and allow us to efficiently screen both urine and blood samples. I would highly recommend this system.
